ACCOMPANIMENT

Navigate Important Situations With Someone by Your Side

Some situations in Korea are much easier when you have someone there with you.

Whether you're visiting a hospital, handling an administrative process, dealing with a housing matter, or navigating another unfamiliar situation, Univera Accompaniment provides in-person support throughout the process.

Tell us where you need to go, what you're trying to accomplish, and what kind of help you expect to need. We'll review your request, confirm availability, and help you prepare for the visit.

How Accompaniment Works

1. Tell Us What You Need Help With

Submit your request with the location, preferred date and time, and a description of what you're trying to accomplish.

Include any relevant appointment information, documents, or circumstances that could help us understand the situation.

2. We Review Your Request

We'll review the details, determine whether the request falls within the scope of Accompaniment, and check provider availability.

If we need additional information before confirming the appointment, we'll contact you.

3. Schedule Your Accompaniment

Once your request is eligible and availability is confirmed, you'll be able to finalize your appointment and complete any required payment.

Your appointment is confirmed once the required booking process has been completed.

4. We Meet You There

Your Univera provider will meet you at the agreed location and help you navigate the situation in person.

Depending on your request, this may include navigating the location or process, communicating with staff, keeping track of important information, and helping you understand what happens next.

What Can Accompaniment Help With?

Hospital & Clinic Visits

Get in-person support navigating healthcare appointments in Korea.

This may include help with registration, navigating the facility, practical communication support, understanding administrative instructions, and keeping track of next steps.

Univera does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Administrative Visits

Get support navigating government offices, banks, and other administrative processes.

We can help you understand where to go, communicate during the visit, navigate the process, and keep track of instructions or next steps.

Housing

Get support during housing-related appointments or situations where navigating the process or communicating in Korean may be difficult.

This may include attending meetings, housing-related visits, or other eligible interactions alongside you.

Univera does not provide legal advice or act as a real estate agent.

Other Situations

Not every situation fits neatly into one category.

If you have an important appointment, visit, or task in Korea and think having someone there would make it easier to navigate, submit a request and tell us what's going on.

We'll determine whether Accompaniment is appropriate for the situation.

What Does Your Provider Do?

Your Univera provider is there to help you navigate the situation — not make decisions for you.

Depending on your request, your provider may:

  • Help you navigate the location or process

  • Assist with practical Korean-English communication

  • Help communicate questions you want to ask

  • Help you understand instructions provided during the visit

  • Keep track of important information and next steps

  • Help reduce the uncertainty of navigating an unfamiliar system alone

You remain responsible for decisions concerning your medical care, legal matters, finances, contracts, immigration status, housing, and other personal affairs.
